In February 2012 each DPD-depot was visited by the Belgian Customs. The reason for this was the request by DPD Belgium to acquire the European AEO-certificate, that stands for “Authorised Economic Operator”. DPD Belgium chose the S certificate , which specifically focuses on Security and Safety. On 27 March 2012 the DPD BELUX also acquired the certificate and is therefore on the European list as a ‘Secure and Safe’ transporter.
DPD Belgium has undertaken in relation to the government to ensure that:
- the DPD- network with packages will proceed safety and securely,
- that they work with companies that are legally in order at all levels and
- comply with all security and safety regulations if they want to work with DPD,
both for subcontractors and customers.
- TÜV SÜD confirms the effectiveness of the DPD environmental management system
- Simultaneous certification of DPD in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg
Mechelen, 25 January 2012 – Parcel and express service provider DPD has successfully been certified in accordance with the ISO 14001 international environmental norm. The certification followed a process covering several months and involving numerous audits at DPD branches by TÜV SÜD, the independent testing body. The certified environmental management system covers DPD in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Our ambitious and measurable environmental policy will enable us to anchor responsibility towards the environment even more deeply within our organization, states DPD Managing Director Marc Morioux, adding Certification in accordance with ISO 14001 confirms this - and at the same time represents a commitment to the future.
DPD's environmental management system is based on measurable environmental targets covering subjects such as reducing energy consumption, emissions, waste and water consumption. On the basis of reliable key data DPD continuously measures of success of the measures it implements for the purpose of achieving environmental targets. The documentation and measurement of this key data, together with the consistent implementation of the company's environmental policy, are monitored by TÜV SÜD at regular intervals. The current certification remains valid for an initial period of three years.
