Mechatronics specialists are a mixture of mechanical and electronic engineer. They assemble installations and machinery from mechanical and electronic parts, put them into operation and operate them. They of course also take care of repairing and maintaining the installations. At DPD they are responsible for ensuring that the parcel conveyor systems in the sorting facilities of the branches operate in a trouble-free manner.
The period of training for this profession is 3.5 years

- combining components and groups of components into machines and systems
- mounting and dismantling of machinery, systems and installations – transporting and securing these
- testing and adjusting the functions of mechatronic systems
- putting mechatronic systems into operation and operating them
- maintaining mechatronic systems
