Hazardous goods.

In the transport of hazardous goods the correct packaging and marking is very important. This is the only way that hazardous goods parcels can be transported in accordance with the strict legal provisions. This applies both to the wide spectrum of domestic shipments and to the transport of hazardous goods in limited quantities (LQ) within Europe.

Marking of crossborder hazardous goods.

Since 01.01.2011 all packages whose contents meet the criteria for transport in limited quantities have to carry the following new symbol.

The previous markings (LQ or UN No. in the diamond) are only valid until 30.06.2015.

Additional label for standard parcel labels.

If standard parcel labels are used, hazardous goods parcels also have to carry the supplementary label "LQ with supplementary code 005". If parcel label printing programmes are used, this also applies until these are converted to the new regulations. LQ shippers who use their own programmes for generating parcel labels have to make the legally required information available in the MPSEXPDATA format.

Proof of gross mass.

In addition a list which clearly indicates the LQ parcels and their weights should be sent to your DPD depot (fax/email). A copy of this list should be given to the driver.

Please contact your DPD Depot for the legal regulations on correct packaging or further information.
