Servicemeddelelser
The strike in Italy has come to an end. However, due to the many pre-loaded units it will take until middle of next week until all overspills will have been worked off. After that regular delivery times to Italy are anticipated.
Several transport unions in Italy called out a national strike the 24th of January 2012. Therefore, all parcel to and from Italy has been ceased completely until further notice. All postcode areas in Italy are affected by this. Parcels already en route to Italy will be kept in the HUBs/Gateways according to the loading scheme, for the time being. In order to be able to organise systematic working off the overspills after the end of the strike, we kindly ask you to load the parcels as usual. We will store the parcels on swop bodies to be able to gradually get them out for delivery after the end of the strike. This national strike could possibly last until 27 January 2012.
The shipment of alcohol of any kind to Norway and Sweden is no longer permitted. Parcels containing alcohol will be returned to the dispatching depot.
Denmark holds the UCI Road World Championships 2011, which will be held from the 15–25th of September 2011. All roads in and around the route will be affected and cannot be used as normal. Unfortunately, this can cause delays in delivery and pickup of packages in Copenhagen and environs. You can get more information on traffic changes in the newsletter from Københavns Kommune, or in Wonderful Copenhagens latest newsletter with lots of news about the World Championship, including detailed information on barriers and product delivery before and during the event.
Recently, we have experienced delays in transit time to countries outside the EU, if an invoice has not been given an EORI number – especially parcels to Iceland via Sweden, and to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia via Slovenia. Kindly remember EORI on all your invoices to avoid that your parcels are unnecessarily delayed because of missing information. Of course we will also check invoices at our depots. You may read more about EORI on SKAT's website.
Due to the general strike in France delays may be expected. There have been annonced large demonstrations in all major cities (Paris. Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Toulouse, Lille), 'drive slowly’-actions on the highways, etc. Also, air and rail traffic will be affected with delays and cancellations. Moreover, all the French oil refineries have stopped for more than a week, which lead to additional problems in fuel supply for both private people and companies and causes further delays. The strike may continue from day to day.
China strengthens custom inspection for imports and exports, which may cause delays. Customs will check goods to and from China Customs in terms of VAT and taxes including samples and advertising articles, but with the exception of documents and personal belongings. Contents and quantities of packages have to be described in detail and trade and customs registration code must be indicated. Note, that descriptions such as 'samples' or blanks are no longer accepted. The tightened control can cause extended transit times.
Please note, that due to bad weather conditions in France and server floods - mainly in district 83 and 64 - some village and cities are not reachable anymore:
Bayonne (64000) Draguignan and suburbs in area 83. Therefore, deliveries might be delayed in these areas. The situation should be back to normal by the end of the week.
