10 | 2011 - DPD Ireland delivers you parcel - and a sales lead is generated

DPD Ireland is testing new software that enables consumer surveys immediately after delivery.

Once the driver has delivered and scanned a parcel a questionnaire pops-up on his laptop. For instance, the driver can ask the receiver for his interest in additional products or services. Then data is transferred automatically to the sender of the parcel, thus generating a so-called 'hot sales lead ", which the sales department can respond to.

- We have a customer that has increased additional sales with 60 % when making calls to these "hot sales leads", says Brendan O'Neill, chief of DPD Ireland.

It is the company Blackbay, which is producer of the necessary software. Recently they have extended their cooperation with DPD Ireland with a five years until 2016. The questionnaire is part of their latest version of the software Blackbay.
