DPD takes its commitment to sustainable development very seriously. As a company in the transport and logistics industry we respect our obligations both towards the environment and the economic and social needs of our workforce and society as a whole.

We continuously plan and develop improvements in the fields of the environment, our workforce and society. We make every effort to safeguard the long-term business success of our company by innovative products and services while dealing responsibly with our environment.

At our various locations there are numerous examples of how we are implementing sustainable development practices. In the environmental field we are working on reducing CO2 emissions and actively promote waste avoidance and recycling. We are operating pilot projects to test the use of innovative technologies such as vehicles driven by gas or electricity. Our delivery staff benefit from driver safety training, our workforce as a whole from safety in the workplace and from a range of facilities promoting health consciousness.

At a social level, too, DPD sets benchmarks – for example with the grants the company provides for junior sportsmen and women in cooperation with the Deutsche Sporthilfe sports aid association. With its longstanding support for young athletes, DPD highlights the positive effect which sport has on society. Values and principles such as endurance, hard work, ambition but also fair treatment of others are vital not just in sport but also in business. This is why we support the Deutsche Sporthilfe organisation in promoting junior sporting talent.

In addition DPD is also active on a regional basis. In Finland we support the valuable work of Lastenklinikoiden Kummit ry.
