  • We have canceled all missions, training and face-to-face meetings;
  • To prevent the spread of the virus to the maximum extent, we regularly disinfect DPD Latvia's premises, including mail processing terminals and facilities where our couriers are located daily;
  • All our couriers are provided with disinfectants for regular disinfection of hands and work equipment.

Changes to COD (Cash on Delivery)

Continuing to actively follow the spread of COVID-19 across Europe and following the recommendations of the Latvian authorities, from 19.03. cash transactions are terminated indefinitely, providing COD (Cash on Delivery) service. From now on, beneficiaries will only be able to pay by bank card.
If, at the time of delivery, the customer will not be able to pay for the item by bank credit card, the item will be returned to the sender.

Changes in "Bulky cargo unloading" service

From 18.03. changes in the provision of the "Bulky cargo unloading service" take effect. Subsequently, before delivery, the DPD courier will contact the recipient to determine if the customer is in quarantine.
If the consignee is not in quarantine, we will deliver the shipment as usual.
If the recipient is in quarantine, the DPD courier will offer to make a Contactless Delivery by shipment to the recipient's front door of the property (apartment / house).
If the recipient refuses to accept the shipment, we will return it to the sender.

Changes to ROD service

DPD continues to provide ROD with the following security precautions:
1. Before the shipment arrives, the courier will contact the consignee to determine if it is in quarantine. If the recipient is in quarantine, delivery will be canceled and the shipment will be returned to the shipper.
2. Users of the ROD service will be invited to sign up using their own pen. This reduces the amount of physical contact.
3. In order to verify the identity of the recipient, the courier will ask you to place the ID card or Passport at a safe distance and will ask you to depart from the document so that the data in the document can be compared with the contract data.
4. Once the recipient's identity has been confirmed, the courier will prepare the documents for signature and invite the recipient to sign them.
5. Recipients will be encouraged to maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters from the courier to minimize the potential risks of physical contact.
6. If the recipient refuses to present his identity documents or refuses to sign, the consignment will be returned to the sender.
7. Subject to the security recommendations, all ROD documents will be held in quarantine for 24 hours after the recipient has signed. We ask our clients to be aware of any delay in returning signed documents.
