Planet As a provider of logistic services we have a special responsibility to protect our environment. For that reason we constantly reduce our CO2 emissions.  Furthermore we seek to conserve natural resources and we avoid wastage.

Some examples of how we take our responsibility for the environment:

Road transport

For parcel shipping within Europe DPD consciously chooses road transport, for this emits much less CO2 compared to air transport. We make use of an advanced transport network which is constantly optimized. Thanks to our Direct Linehauls air transport in Europe is no longer needed.    

EcoCombinations

DPD uses Longer and Heavier Articulated Lorries (LZV). This enables us to ship more parcels in one vehicle  which leads to a 40% CO2 reduction.

CO2 neutral depots

The newly built distribution centres in Veenendaal and Etten-Leur are sustainable buildings. The complete depots were sustainably built using state-of- the-art techniques for among others heat and cold recovery.    

Compressed Natural gas vehicles

DPD has started a pilot with CNG vehicles. These vehicles use Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technology and fully run on natural gas. With this pilot  DPD takes the next step in the development of sustainable transport.
