DPD extends Express-Service to Benelux countries
15/06/2009 9:38 am
Aschaffenburg, 9 June 2009 – Since the beginning of June DPD has been offering its DPD 10:00 express service for parcel shipping from Germany to the main urban centres of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
DPD is driving forward the expansion of its international express portfolio. Since the beginning of June it has now been possible to ship express parcels with DPD 10:00 to selected regions of the Benelux countries. DPD 10:00 guarantees delivery by 10.00 a.m. the next working day. The new service will be available mainly in the conurbations of the Benelux states and can be supplemented by a range of service options. For example parcels can now be shipped COD, while proactive notification by text message is also possible: "This new service, too, is implemented via the DPD road network in Europe and once more demonstrates the capacity and efficiency of this network. In addition transport by road is up to five times less expensive than airfreight, which also generates something like eight times more CO2 emissions", comments DPD CEO Arnold Schroven.
After the successful establishment of the DPD 12:00 and DPD 18:00 services for cross-border parcel shipping to and from the Benelux states in 2008, DPD is rounding off its existing express portfolio. With this service DPD is now offering its customers the same level of quality which they have come to expect from the company's domestic express services within Germany. |
