Responsibility for our Community.
We regard ourselves as being part of the society in which we work. We do not just have responsibility for our stakeholders but for every single individual. As a result, we make a strong contribution to the general well-being of the community and support many not-for-profit organisations – not just by making financial donations but also through voluntary work and the provision of logistical support.
These examples down below demonstrate how DPD shows responsibility for the community.
We booked Johanna Ortmayr and Markus Samek of the Trisomie 21 DJ-Team of the Firefly Club as speakers for the community part of our sustainability report ( available in German only). The association aims to help challenged people to become professional DJs.
DPD employees' show their great engagement by participating in various charitable projects - Cooking in what is called the Gruft (endl. tomb), one of the most important shelters for homeless people in Vienna and the Red Nose Run. These are just two initiatives which are regularly supported by DPD employees.
Five years ago DPD entered a long-lasting partnership with the hospice for critically ill children because they fund themselves by donations only. In addition to financial donations DPD employees personally help at Sterntalerhof and hereby support the various activities of this unique organisation far more than it could be possible just with financial engagement.
Every year at Christmas time DPD puts together a fairly special package: Annually DPD Austria offers a grave reward for non-profit organisations, families and projects throughout Austria. A committee consisting of employees decides which project from the various areas will be supported with donations in kind.
