Belgian clients can start using DPD fresh as from November

DPD fresh was launched in September of this year with parcels originating from France (Chronofresh). During this first phase, these ‘French’ parcels were delivered in Brussels city centre and its 19 municipalities. Not long after, the Flemish periphery around Brussels followed.

Today we are proud to announce that also Belgian customers will be able to use the DPD fresh network as of this month. Concretely, they can now have fresh, refrigerated and frozen food products delivered at private and business addresses in and around Brussels.

This phased implementation of DPD fresh in Belgium is taking place as planned. We had to have our systems adjusted first to ensure the temperature is constantly monitored, from pick-up all the way through to delivery. As we speak, all preparation is being finalised so that from this month onwards we are fully up and running for any request coming from Belgian food manufacturers, distributors and e-tailers. In a third phase (with go-live planned early 2021) we will expand DPD fresh for delivery at cities and municipalities all over Belgium.  

Refrigerated food delivery

DPD fresh is a new express transport solution for delivery (within 24 hours) of groceries, fresh and frozen products to both private and business customers. This new service is mainly aimed at food manufacturers, wholesale distributors and web shops. Its main feature obviously is the actively refrigerated network, which entails we provide cold storage conditions ourselves, in the depots as well as during transport. That way, customers can save significantly on expensive and polluting packaging they would normally have to use to keep their goods fresh. At the same time, we guarantee the cold chain throughout the entire transport process.
