Interview with Michel

The voice behind DPD: Our Michel

DPD: How long have you been working for DPD?
Michel: "I have been working for DPD since 01 February 2021."

DPD: You recently changed the team. How did this happen?
Michel: "The reason for my change was the leaving of a colleague. As a result, someone new was needed in the team. I was asked and thought the new job was very exciting. Personally, it is an opportunity for further development, because I can acquire new knowledge and deal with new topics."

DPD: What is your job at DPD and what do you particularly like about it?
Michel: "I started in the role of Front Office Specialist. There I handled the phone enquiries of our shippers and consignees. I really like the interaction with the different people and I am happy to be able to keep this up in my new position. In my new position, I will be dealing more with enquiries from our consignees and will focus on handling import and export issues. This means that I will communicate a lot with our depots from the different countries and get to know completely new people and processes."

DPD: What languages do you speak?
Michel: "I speak 4 languages: German, English, French and a little Thai, because my mother is Thai."

DPD: What do you like to do in your free time?
Michel: "I have been playing football since I was 4 years old. It is part of my life. I even played in the 1st amateur league for a while. Currently, however, it's just a hobby. What excites me about the sport is that it is a team sport and you are always with the team. Football brings people together."

DPD: What is your most favourite series?
Michel: "I like watching series, but I don't really have a favourite series. But the series I really like at the moment are Power, Empire and Shameless. I also enjoy watching action comedies, horror and anime such as One Punch Man, Dragon Ball and One Piece."

DPD: What do you do when you're in a bad mood?
Michel: "When the weather is good, I like to go for a walk with our dog and listen to music. When the weather is bad, I play games on my Playstation 5, such as Ghost of Tsushima, Call of Duty or other storytelling games."

DPD: Which three things in your life are you most grateful for?
Michel: "Family, football and just being able to eat and drink, have a job and earn money. Because nowadays that's no longer a matter of course. Especially not in other countries, such as Thailand."

DPD: What is the characteristic that makes you special and why?
Michel: "I am a very helpful person. I always try to help everyone, no matter what the problem is."
