Crossing the finish line with steady strides
Sports bring people together, strengthen team spirit, and provide balance in everyday life. With theDPD Pacemaker Campaign campaign, we at DPD Switzerland want to highlight exactly that: how running motivates us personally and inspires us professionally. Today, we are introducingReinier, Project Manager IT & Processes, who shares why running means more to him than just fitness, what he thinks makes a great DPD Pacemaker – and why beginners should focus on one thing above all: good shoes.
An interview with Reinier
DPD: „How long have you been with DPD, and what motivated you to join us?“
Reinier: „I studiedLogistics Management and was looking for a suitable job in logistics. I've now been with DPD for 3.5 years.“
DPD: „What progress have you made during your time at DPD?“
Reinier: „I’m still learning new things every day. Over the past few years, I’ve gained a lot of experience – especially about what works and what doesn’t.“
DPD: „What does running mean to you personally?“
Reinier: „For me, running is a way to stay fit. What motivates me most is participating in races. Having a goal and achieving it is anamazing feeling.“
DPD: „In your opinion, what qualities make a good DPD Pacemaker?“
Reinier: „A DPD Pacemaker should primarily ensure a steady rhythm and a predictable target time. That’s why I say: consistency and reliability.“

DPD: „How do you handle setbacks or injuries in sports?“
Reinier: „I adapt to the situation, stay positive, and set new goals for myself.“
DPD: „Is there a particular moment as a DPD Pacemaker that has stayed with you?“
Reinier: „I'm always amazed by people who run in extraordinary outfits. In Lucerne, I once saw a group of firefighters running in full gear – that's something you don't forget.“
DPD: „How important are recovery and rest in your training?“
Reinier: „I like running the same training route over and over again. It clears my mind and really helps me to unwind.“
DPD: „What advice do you have for people just starting to run?“
Reinier: „Get yourself a good pair of shoes – and just start!“

Thank you, Reinier, for your honest insights and tips. We're delighted to have you as a DPD Pacemaker in our team – and we wish you many steady strides, ambitious goals, and successful races ahead.
