How did the idea for DPD Web Parcel come about?
„The idea arose to offer the Swiss population an alternative to Swiss Post. At its core, it was designed for private individuals. Nowadays, however, the tool is also used by micro-businesses.“
What challenges did you face during development?
„Since the portal is a group solution developed for many European countries, the biggest challenge was addressing local needs. In Switzerland, this primarily involved cross-border shipments and ensuring smooth customs clearance by obtaining accurate information from users and recipients.”
What benefits do you see for our customers?
„The main advantage, in our view, lies in the pricing strategy, which, unlike competitors, is based on parcel size rather than weight. This means that with us, you can send a small parcel (size S) weighing up to 10 kg at an attractive price. Additionally, there are other benefits, such as having your parcel picked up from home for a small extra fee. Combined with our now extensive out-of-home network of over 1‘000 DPD Pickup parcelshops, parcels can also be conveniently dropped off and shipped.”
