Depotcharge: New sharing platform opens up charging points for Swiss heavy-duty transport to shared use.

Bern, 24 April 2026. On May 1, 2026, Depotcharge will launch in Switzerland as a new sharing platform that enables companies to share access to their charging points. Depotcharge is a product of Evolve Energy GmbH. The Swiss rollout is part of a joint project by Repower, DPD, G. Leclerc Transport AG, and Evolve Energy, which is integrated as a measure into the Federal Office of Energy's Electromobility Roadmap 2030.

The electrification of truck fleets is progressing rapidly in Switzerland, but the newly emerging charging infrastructure often remains underutilized. At the same time, fleet operators charge at public charging stations at prices that are usually significantly higher than at the depot. To close this gap, Repower, DPD, and G. Leclerc Transport, together with Evolve Energy, are launching the Swiss rollout of Depotcharge.

The principle behind the sharing platform is simple: Depotcharge enables companies in the heavy transport and logistics sector to share their charging points. Underutilized charging slots can be made available to other registered fleet operators. These operators enter into usage agreements with site managers, book the desired time slots, and gain access to the charging points. Access times and prices are set individually by the site managers. Depotcharge handles access management, reservations, and fully automated billing. The platform is manufacturer-independent and can be integrated into existing charging infrastructure within 1 to 2 weeks, without any need for hardware or software changes at the site.

The benefits are clear: higher utilization of existing charging points, improved economic efficiency of investments and vehicle fleets, and greater security in route planning. At the same time, the need for additional grid expansion is significantly reduced.

"Repower has been supporting the development of charging hubs for Swiss heavy transport for years. To ensure that these investments pay off, existing capacity needs to be utilized as efficiently as possible. Depotcharge creates the commercial framework for this and offers our customers an additional source of revenue from infrastructure investments they have already made," says Cornelia Eltrich, Marketing & Communication Manager E-Mobility, Repower.
«For DPD Switzerland, electrifying our fleet is a clear strategic direction. The key factors are cost efficiency in charging operations and the ability to plan our routes. With Depotcharge, we gain access to charging points along our routes at significantly more favorable conditions than on the public network,» says Ville Heimgartner, Senior Project & Sustainability Manager, DPD Switzerland.

Depotcharge is already available in Germany and is being developed as a Europe-wide platform for shared charging of electric trucks at depots. The joint project by Repower, DPD, Swiss Post, G. Leclerc Transport, and Evolve Energy aims to establish a comprehensive, efficient, and collaboratively operated depot charging network in Switzerland. The Swiss Commercial Vehicle Association ASTAG is also relying on Depotcharge as a platform for its member offering ASTAG Charge.

Contribution to the Electromobility Roadmap 2030
The Swiss rollout of Depotcharge is a specific measure submitted by the participating initiators as part of the 2030 Roadmap of the Federal Office of Energy. It makes a significant contribution to decarbonizing the transport sector and accelerates electromobility in heavy transport.

Starting May 1, logistics companies with charging infrastructure or a need for their fleets can register with Depotcharge in Switzerland.
