Unfortunately, there are always scam emails in circulation. Unfortunately, the scammers use various email addresses as senders, here are some examples (not exhaustive): [email protected]. / [email protected] / [email protected]. / [email protected].

In many cases, reference is made to allegedly outstanding customs duties, which are to be paid by means of a Paysafecard. This is a scam! DPD does not send invoices by e-mail. After receiving your parcel, DPD will send you an official invoice showing the VAT.
We urge you to report these emails accordingly upon receipt (see table below) and not to follow the instructions in the email.

This email refers to allegedly outstanding customs duties which are supposed to be paid by means of a paysafecard. This is a scam! DPD does not send invoices by email. After receiving your parcel, you will receive an official invoice from DPD which will show the value added tax.ble) and do not follow the instructions regarding the paysafecard.

There have also been fraud attempts via SMS. Such an SMS could look like the following example:
Dear customer, Please check your invoice from DPD: https:/bit.ly/...

Again, please do not follow any instructions provided in such an SMS.

Please note that currently also via the social network Facebook scammers are trying to deceive you. In most cases, the scam takes the form of private messages to the Facebook user in which an attempt is made to demand a sum of money for an alleged courier insurance policy in the amount of, for example, 50 euros. This amount is then to be transferred accordingly by cash shipment. These messages have no reference to DPD Switzerland and are for this reason once again a scam that is currently increasingly in circulation.
Furthermore, fraud attempts via Marketplace have also been registered. Here, a DPD pick-up service is offered for a fee.

If you receive such a message via Facebook, we urge you to report it directly to Facebook and not to follow the instructions via private message.

Fake invoice E-Mail

E-Mails have recently been in circulation that, seemingly in the name of DPD, invite the user to download invoices in CSV format or ask the user to pay transport costs and contain a link to a different website.
Important: DPD would like to make it expressly clear that this is misuse of the DPD brand and is attempted fraud. Under no circumstances should you click on such links. DPD accepts absolutely no liability for any damage resulting from such attempts at fraud.

Reporting fraud: What to do about phishing E-Mails?

Phishing E-Mails are E-Mails in which fraudsters attempt to gain access to sensitive, confidential data (e.g. log-in details) belonging to unsuspecting Internet users.

  1. Fake websites: The URL for reporting fraud to the Swiss Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance (MELANI) is https://www.antiphishing.ch/en/
  2. You can forward phishing EMails to [email protected] directly
  3. The provider of your E-Mmail account: The address is often “abuse@” or “spam@” followed by the domain of the provider, e.g. [email protected]
  4. Notify the cantonal police (https://www.kkpks.ch/de/organisation/polizeikorps)

If possible, forward the original E-Mail as an attachment. This preserves all of the information about the original sender. You should then delete the E-Mail to make it impossible to fall into the trap.

By reporting phishing attempts, you are helping to protect other Internet users. The phishing site can be taken down more quickly with your help. This prevents recipients of e-mails from being able to enter their data and makes it less likely that the fraudsters will succeed.
