Interview with Norbert Peters

No matter how many parcels and how often private and business customers wish to ship them - DPD always has the right solution. We have completely redesigned our website so that every shipper and consignee can find the right service directly and intuitively. Access to the central online applications for sending, receiving and returning parcels has been greatly simplified. Project manager and digital expert Norbert Peters explains to us exactly how this works and what else DPD customers can expect from the new website.

 

Mr Peters, with the new website and the new myDPD online portal, DPD is once again positioning itself as an innovation leader. What makes the new platform so special?

Norbert Peters: "The new website offers our customers a central gateway to parcel shipping with DPD. In addition to modern design and innovative functionalities, dpd.de offers users an outstanding customer experience that sets new benchmarks on the parcel market: in other words: the use of the site is as simple as possible and also appeals to the user emotionally.

 

What exactly does the individual user experience on dpd.de look like?

From the user's perspective, our customers receive targeted offers for their individual needs on the website. The intuitive navigation takes visitors quickly and directly to what they are looking for. The previous separation between private and business websites is therefore unnecessary.

 

How will sending, receiving and returning parcels be simplified on the new website?

As the three most important customer requirements, "Sending", "Receiving" and "Returning" parcels are consistently at the core of our website. Frequently used functions, such as requesting a personal offer for parcel shipping, can now be accessed even faster than before. In addition, we offer exciting innovations, insights and background information on parcel shipping with DPD - especially with our Newsroom, which covers a wide range of areas of interest.

 

What role does the online portal myDPD play in this?

In the personalised area of myDPD, the most important online functions for sending, receiving and returning parcels with just one single login are available - regardless of whether the user is a major customer or a private consignee. Everyone therefore has fast and individual access to the most important functionalities and information relevant to them.

 

Does the new DPD website also work on the smartphone?

Yes, of course our new website functions everywhere and on every device. Whether tablet, smartphone or desktop PC: thanks to its responsive design the new website adapts optimally to the individual habits of the user. At the same time, it always remains lean, clearly structured and highly advanced. User behaviour is changing and the smartphone is now used more frequently than tablets or PCs as a daily companion to obtain information.
