Shipping hazardous goods with DPD: rely on safety.

Both within Germany or internationally: DPD is a reliable partner when it comes to transporting hazardous goods.

Important information on domestic hazardous goods shipping

On your behalf we will transport a wide range of goods classified as hazardous under the ADR transport regulations almost anywhere in Germany.

  • Our domestic DPD CLASSIC service is available to you for shipping hazardous goods (no service to islands).
  • For urgent deliveries you can also ship your hazardous goods with our time-specific Express service (road transport only). Delivery will be the next business day. We transport ADR-classified dangerous goods for you that are packed in limited quantities in accordance with the small quantity regulation (LQ = Limited Quantities). They must be marked appropriately for LQ.
  • The transport of hazardous goods is subject to strict statutory regulations. As a result it requires prior consultation with your DPD depot and the conclusion of a special agreement. Please note our GTC. Your DPD contact will be happy to advise you on all the necessary requirements and additional shipping regulations.

Important information on international hazardous goods shipping

In European road transport we ship ADR-classified hazardous goods which are packed in limited quantities in accordance with LQ regulations and are marked appropriately.

  • With DPD CLASSIC we ship your hazardous goods in limited quantities to: Belgium, Denmark, France, Croatia, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovenia, Spain, Hungary. 

  • With our time-specific Express-Service we provide next-day deliveries to Benelux, Liechtenstein and Switzerland.

  • The transport of hazardous goods is subject to strict statutory regulations. As a result it requires prior consultation with your DPD contact.

  • This service is not available for islands which can only be reached by sea or by air. This applies, for example, to the Azores, the Balearic Islands, Madeira, Corsica, Spitzbergen and some Danish islands, together with locations on the mainland with the same postcodes.

Marking of parcels with hazardous goods in limited quantities (LQ)

Your DPD contact will provide you with the necessary information on statutory regulations for correct packaging and further details.

The markings must be clearly identifiable and readable, with the upper/lower part sections and outline in black. The middle section must be white or provide a suitably contrasting background. The minimum dimension are 100 mm x 100 mm. If required by the size of the parcel, the minimum dimensions can be reduced to no less than 50 mm x 50 mm.

Please note that for processing in accordance with the law, we require the gross mass of the hazardous goods in limited quantities (LQ) that you have handed over to us for shipping.
