Help on the DPD app
Here you will find questions and our answers relating to the DPD app. We provide help on technical problems and explain important functions.
We work constantly on improving our app, and therefore issue regular updates. In order to avoid any malfunction on the part of your app you should make sure that your operating system is always up-to-date. For example, our app is currently available from Version 4.1 of Android and 9 of iOS. However, if the app does not function correctly in spite of this, we recommend that you should close the app and then start it once more. Rebooting your smartphone can also help to restore the normal functions.
If you enable our app to find your location we can automatically display the Pickup parcelshops in your area. Even if you don't wish to share your location with us, you can of course also enter your location manually in the search function and find local Pickup parcelshops. Depending on the operating system used it is possible that some functions will not be available to you if you don't share your location with us.
Options which are shaded in grey are currently not available. As a rule options are not available because of the product which has been selected. For example, COD parcels can't be delivered to neighbours, because the money for the parcel has to be handed over in person by the consignee who is specified by the shipper. Or, for example, if you have already redirected a shipment, no further changes are possible, at least until the second delivery attempt is due.
The Live-Tracking function is only available to you once your parcel is in the delivery vehicle. As soon as this is the case we inform you with our Predict service by email and/or SMS about the delivery and the activation of the Live-Tracking function. If the shipper has not activated the Predict service, you can check on the latest status of your shipment in the Parcel Navigator or our app at any time.

Functions of the app
No, you can also use our app without registering. However, registration offers a number of benefits: for example you can record your preferences (e.g. deposit okay, email notifications) and you receive an overview of all your parcels.
You can provide us with a deposit okay for all your future parcels in a number of different ways: for example by signing into the Parcel Navigator, in our app ('Preferences' in the menu) or by using the parcel notification card which we leave in your letterbox if we can't locate you at home.
You can delete your account with a few clicks of the mouse either in DPD Web Parcel (User data), in the Parcel Navigator and in our app (Profile). If you use a different portal, please get in touch with your contact person or the depot responsible for you.
As the consignee you decide when or where we deliver the parcel. You can choose from four redirection options in order to have your parcel delivered the way it suits you best. You normally receive an email with the parcel number. If we have not located you at home, you will also find the parcel number on the parcel notification card which we leave in your letterbox. In the parcel tracking function four redirection options are available to you, e.g. you can give us a deposit okay, redirect your parcel to a neighbour or a parcelshop of your choice or change the day of delivery. In your "Preferences" you can register the type of delivery which is generally the most suitable for you.
Registration with the Parcel Navigator or in our app offers lots of benefits: for example you have an overview of all the parcels you have received and can register personal preferences - for example activating or deactivating a deposit okay or email notifications.
In the Parcel Navigator and in our app we differentiate between your Profile and your Preferences. The difference is quite simple. In your Profile you enter personal data such as your address and mobile number. These form the basis for our delivery. In your Preferences you can influence the delivery of your parcels by, for example, registering a deposit okay for all your future parcels or activating/deactivating the email notification function.
In DPD's Live-Tracking function you can follow your delivery and the related time window live. For this very reason it can happen that the time window changes slightly in the course of the delivery – for example if weather and/or traffic conditions lead to a delay. Alternatively it can also happen that our driver covers the route faster than planned, which means that we can deliver your parcel even earlier.
Our drivers make a large number of stops on their route, and make every effort to move from stop to stop as fast as possible. The actual length of a stop depends on a range of factors (the local situation, the traffic and/or weather conditions etc.). The time window in the Live-Tracking function gives you a fairly good idea of when you can expect a shipment to arrive – down to the last 30 minutes.
We hope you will appreciate that it is not possible for consignees to pick up parcels along the delivery route. This is the only way in which we can ensure that all parcels can be delivered punctually by our drivers.
