Regional delivery revolution: two-hour intervals available to 35 million Russian online shoppers
Moscow, June 18, 2019 — DPD has completed testing its Predict solution and now delivery within a two-hour interval is available to 35 million Russian online shoppers in 57 cities!
Predict is a technologically sophisticated product. It combines a number of solutions: automatic address parsing, assignment of geo-coordinates to each address and a system that builds a route for the courier taking into account traffic jams and the wide delivery interval chosen by the customer while ordering in any online store. In the morning of the delivery day the user receives a text message with a two-hour interval. If the interval is inconvenient, the consignee can make changes via DPD chat bot just in a few seconds.
“We are transforming the usual last-mile delivery process making it as convenient as possible for online order consignees. Thanks to Predict, we have increased first-time delivery success by 6%. Some courier services already provide short-interval delivery, but none of them provides this service all over the country. Our plans are to reduce the interval to one hour.“
