We all share the #Same Address: the new DPDgroup communication campaign to shine a light on delivery services during Covid-19 crisis

  • The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted how essential delivery services are, drivers being in the frontline to deliver individuals, pharmacies, hospitals, businesses, etc. DPDgroup wanted to shine a light on their key contributions to our communities by launching a communication campaign.
  • In April 2020, when lockdown was a reality in most European countries, and in May DPDgroup delivered in total more than 300 million parcels in Europe, up by 30% vs last year.
  • For the third consecutive year, DPDgroup is launching a 100% digital communication campaign, in 19 countries starting from 20 June 2020.

Delivery as a key service to maintain economy and social lifeline

E-commerce surged beyond expectation during the pandemic and continues to grow. Worldwide e-commerce share of global retail sales is being driven by Covid-19 in 2020 with an estimated market share of 20% against 14% in 2019[1].

While parcel deliveries to businesses (B2B activity) have been severely impacted by the pandemic, deliveries to individuals (B2C) have been dramatically boosted.
In April 2020, when lockdown was a reality in most European countries, and in May DPDgroup delivered in total more than 300 million parcels in Europe, up by 30% vs last year.

BtoB deliveries have also been vital for sectors such as food and healthcare. DPDgroup supported healthcare professionals and local businesses during the pandemic. But DPDgroup also supported retail customers to develop their online sales, and continued to deliver to individual customers for whom online shopping and home delivery were the only way to be outfitted with children's games, electrical goods or sports equipment.

Being recognised as an helpful service in these difficult times, DPDgroup and its subsidiaries experienced a groundswell of thanks and appreciation from customers in communities everywhere for having maintained their services.

In this context, today more than ever delivery services have emerged as essential, a human to human service that has been and still is a key activity helping local communities and the world go round.

“As logistics and delivery experts, our role has been vital in maintaining the economic and social lifeline between businesses and consumers and to respond to the drastic change in requirements that arised from this crisis. We have a role and responsibility to uphold as an indispensable link in the success of B2B and B2C businesses,” comments Boris Winkelmann, Executive Vice President of GeoPost / DPDgroup.

People delivering for people as we all share the #SameAddress

As the largest international parcel delivery network in Europe, DPDgroup strongly believes we are all interconnected and neighbours. That’s why DPDgroup supports charities and projects in local communities across Europe. DPDgroup supports its customers, as people delivering for people.
Because if there is one thing the virus has shown us, wherever you live, wherever your parcels are delivered, we are one community… we all share the #SameAddress.

Here is the motto of the third pan-European communication campaign, broadcasted in 19 countries[2] starting from 20 June 2020 and for three weeks. You can discover the video here and below.

Like last year, the communication campaign is tailor-made for each BU with its own brand, language and local media plan (on social media and local major audience platforms through innovative formats). At a group level, DPDgroup promotes the campaign on its website (dpdgroup.com) and its social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube).
