Pickup launched its first automatic locker dedicated to Click and Collect in pharmacies

On 29 April, Minute Pharma, Pickup's entity dedicated to delivery for pharmacies, launched its first automatic locker dedicated to Click and Collect in pharmacies in Créteil (France). This new offer is in keeping with the company's desire to simplify access to pharmaceutical products in order to facilitate patient care and treatment.

These lockers can be placed inside or outside pharmacies and are designed to handle Click and Collect orders in complete safety.  A wide range of pharmaceutical products are eligible for this service, which is aimed at both private individuals and healthcare professionals.

These lockers facilitate daily tasks for pharmacists and allow them to prioritize their role in advising patients:

  • Better flow management: to cope with peaks in traffic, pharmacies can redirect some of their customers to the lockers.  This gives them more time to advise and care for the patients who need it.

  • Better distribution of workload: during off-peak hours, part of the pharmacy staff can take over the preparation of orders for the lockers.

Lockers that simplify access to pharmaceutical products for individuals and healthcare professionals

  • The customer places an order on the pharmacy's website or directly by telephone

  • If they are already registered with the pharmacy, they can even order products with a prescription by sharing it with their pharmacist at the time of purchase (by downloading it from the pharmacist's website or sending it by email)

  • They receive a notification when their order is made available with their withdrawal codes

  • They go to the locker and collect their order in a matter of seconds.  If the locker is located outside, they can collect their purchases 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The inauguration of the first Minute Pharma locker with Pickup, on 29 April in a pharmacy in Créteil, sparked a great deal of enthusiasm among the pharmacy team, as Pierre Hébert, the pharmacist in charge, explains:

"The Minute Pharma locker is useful for our daily pharmaceutical practice.  It allows us to dispense health products and equipment to our colleagues and patients outside pharmacy opening hours.  The design and security of this locker blend in well with our shop window.  It optimises our working time and helps to create a real synergy with medical logistics players."

Through this offer, Minute Pharma is promoting the development of e-health and capitalising on its knowledge of the pharmaceutical sector, enhanced by the logistical and operational expertise of Pickup, a locker operator since 2015.  Minute Pharma's lockers should be rolled out on a wider scale very soon, with several negotiations already well underway with numerous pharmacy groups.

"Minute Pharma is fully in line with the current transformation of the pharmacy and the role of the pharmacist as the French people's favourite health professional.  After having offered an efficient and effective delivery service to the pharmaceutical sector, we continue to innovate and support pharmacists and patients by offering the Minute Pharma locker.  We are working every day to create an ecosystem conducive to innovation in pharmacy." Samy Layouni, Director of Minute Pharma.
