DPD Portugal renews its operational fleet with 276 PEUGEOT Boxer vehicles

28 September 2020 - DPD Portugal and PEUGEOT Portugal formalized a relevant business that involves the acquisition of 276 PEUGEOT Boxer vehicles, with the aim of renewing part of its operational fleet. A business that worth more than €10.5 million.

The business, with a market value that exceeds €10.5 million, has natural positive effects on the national economy and on the recovery of the automotive sector. This deal results from the victory of PEUGEOT Portugal in the public tender carried out by DPD, and is valid for the 2020 and 2021, during which it is expected the delivery, in stages and until December next year, of the total batch of 276 units of the PEUGEOT Boxer van.

DPD Portugal's option for the new generation of PEUGEOT Boxer fell to 260 units of the larger version 335 L3H3 Pro and 16 units of the version 333 L2H2 Pro, both equipped with the 2.2 BlueHDi 120 hp engine, which complies with the latest Euro 6.2 and is equipped with Stop & Start technology, placing the PEUGEOT Boxer at the best level in the market in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

This model, specially designed to meet the needs in terms of transporting goods or bulky objects by professionals and companies, stands out for optimizing the total cost of use (among the lowest in the market), with the brand mobilizing its resources to achieve the best results of design, quality, durability and efficiency of the model. In order to maximize its residual value and reduce operating costs at the same time, it offers a model with a high technological and comfort index.

According to Rui Nobre, DPD Portugal's Operations Director:

“DPD's choice of the PEUGEOT solution took into account criteria of economic and environmental rationality, namely consumption and emissions. It is therefore expected that, compared to our previous fleet, consumption reductions will be in the order of 10% per year, leading to a corresponding reduction in terms of CO2 emissions, a measure that is completely in line with our sustainable development policy.”

For João Mendes, Brand Manager at PEUGEOT Portugal:

“Given its characteristics, this business proves to be very important, not only for PEUGEOT Portugal, but for the economy and the national market. With regard to PEUGEOT, because it is the first time that we have established a partnership with DPD Portugal, confirming our ability to offer suitable solutions to major operators, fully complying with the increasingly demanding specifications, the operating requirements fleets, and business specificities, such as that in this case involving DPD.
