Fundación SEUR, Boluda Lines and hummel team up to support children’s soccer in Senegal

  • The hummel company has donated 9,658 sportswear items to the Foundation of Fallou Gallas, a former Atlético de Madrid player, in order to help 120 Senegalese children with limited resources to play soccer in better conditions.
  • Fundación SEUR has coordinated the logistic operations to ensure that this material reaches Dakar from Alicante in the shortest possible time.
  • Boluda Lines, the shipping company of the international division Boluda Shipping, in charge of freight forwarding and logistics services, has provided the container and the vessel for the material transfer free of charge.

Fundación SEUR and Boluda Lines teamed up with the sports brand hummel to deliver sports equipment to children who are part of the Senegalese Foundation led by Fallou Gallas, a former Atlético de Madrid player. Through Boluda Lines, the shipping company of the international division Boluda Shipping, 20 pallets containing 9,658 sports garments were shipped to equip 120 children and their 8 coaches from the hummel Academy Football Senegal. These items will be used both for their training sessions and for their competitions and official games.

The Boluda Lines container with all this material reached Dakar this week from the Alicante port, where the ship CARLOTA B departed, and covered these 6,900 kilometers, thanks to the cooperation of this division of Boluda Corporación Marítima. This action is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, through the collaborative framework launched by the company, called Humanitarian Transport.

Manuel Semper's agency supported the customs formalities and handled all the bureaucratic procedures. On the other hand, Fundación SEUR was in charge of collecting the donated material at hummel's facilities in Elche (Alicante), loading the container and coordinating all the logistics operations among all the parties involved to ensure that the material was received at its destination without any setbacks.

"As soon as we had the opportunity to coordinate this action, we didn't hesitate for a moment. One of the Fundación SEUR's goals is to promote the opportunities for the most vulnerable. Moreover, this intermediary work has been very efficient thanks to the willingness of all parties, both Boluda and Fallou Gallas, which has done everything on the ground to facilitate the shipping task",

states Ramón Mayo, President of Fundación SEUR.

"We have been working with this Senegalese foundation for four years, and it is a part of our Company Karma strategy. We are currently helping 120 children with limited resources by providing them, besides material, sports and academic education. Without pursuing such competitive goals, we have even managed to have 5 internationals playing for Senegal's youth teams. We are sure that this is just the beginning of a great project",

says José García Alcaraz, President of hummel Ibérica.

Fallou Gallas started the hummel Academy in Senegal

"to help kids in this country who wanted to train and improve their technique, but didn't have the resources to do so. And thanks to hummel, I have been able to fulfill this dream. With this contribution, with the help of SEUR Foundation and Boluda, we will make a leap in the quality of our boys' sports equipment, which is essential to optimize their performance and minimize possible injuries".

Senegal is a country with a passionate soccer fan base, although its league is still in the process of turning professional. It is a sport that is played mainly on the streets, which is why it is so crucial to support soccer schools that develop talent and help children and young people to improve their technique.
