GeoPost/DPDgroup supports the people of Turkey and Syria

 

The whole world is profoundly shocked and saddened by the news and images of the devastating earthquakes that have struck Turkey and Syria recently. In view of the scale of the loss of life and material damage, we would like to extend our support to all the bereaved families and populations who are now suffering the consequences of this disaster. Sadly, Yurtiçi Kargo, our business partner in Turkey since 2007, has suffered losses in this tragedy, with several casualties announced among the dead or missing to date.

We stand by their side and, more broadly, all the Turkish and Syrian people and their families working in our subsidiaries around the globe.  

GeoPost is donating €100,000 through the French Red Cross, to support the provision of emergency aid now being coordinated by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), the Turkish Red Crescent, and the Syrian Arabic Red Crescent. The Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement is providing urgent financial, material and human support on the ground.

Additional initiatives are currently underway in the various subsidiaries of La Poste Group.

Despite the difficulties encountered in the affected areas, operations are maintained domestically and internationally. Yurtici Kargo, as a logistics operator, is participating in humanitarian aid providing logistical support on site. Our thoughts are with our Yurtiçi Kargo colleagues and their families at this difficult time.
