SEUR, the first company in Spain to obtain AENOR's ISO 23412 certificate for temperature-controlled transport

  • La ISO 23412 accredits organizations that deliver temperature-controlled refrigerated packages containing temperature-sensitive products, such as fresh food
  • It is an official international recognition of the excellence in management and the effort for continuous improvement made by the company in the service SEUR frío

This morning, at an event held at SEUR's headquarters in Madrid, AENOR delivered the leader express transport company with the ISO 23412 certificate, making it the first in the sector in Spain to receive it. This certification, launched in March 2021, endorses ground transport services for the delivery of parcels with intermediate, temperature-controlled and refrigerated transfer. These are requirements that SEUR Frío, the company's temperature-controlled transport solution, meets at all stages of the service, from the acceptance/reception of a refrigerated or frozen package from the user to its delivery at the destination. In this sense, SEUR Frío also covers the certification requirements regarding the intermediate transfer of refrigerated packages between vehicles or refrigerated containers by means of a geographical routing system.

This is an international recognition that officially values SEUR's management excellence and commitment to safety and warranties, in a service that the company launched in 2002 and with which it carries out the urgent transport of fresh food at controlled temperatures (between 2 and 8 degrees) with next day delivery before 13:30 PM. The validation process to achieve certification lasted one year and involved 40 professionals from different departments (Operations, Systems, Sales, Maintenance, Dragging and Legal). Consequently, it also enables an improvement in operating procedures, as well as in the information provided to customers on the labels.

This improvement is aimed at food companies in the meat, fish, vegetables, gourmet and refrigerated beverages sectors.

Benjamín Calzón, Director of Operations in SEUR, said during the event that

"we are proud to receive this international certification that endorses our commitment to quality in temperature-controlled transport. SEUR cold is one of the company's flagships and a leader in its segment, and this recognition is a boost to continue working in the same direction".

Enrique Megia, Director of AENOR in Madrid, and in charge of presenting the certificate, emphasized that

"SEUR has been demonstrating that it has a comprehensive concept of the service it provides to society, and a commitment to continuous improvement. With this certification, it also demonstrates that it is at the forefront of new demands in the field of urgent transport. For AENOR it is an incentive to work alongside companies that are leading advances in their markets".

A major investment in innovation to offer a top-quality service

SEUR invested more than one million euros in an innovative system, based on the Internet of Things (IoT), which guarantees temperature traceability from the moment of collection to delivery. To do this, more than 1.000 devices, which measure temperatures with NB-IoT technology were installed in all refrigerated units, delivery vehicles, containers, and in a hundred cold chambers in the SEUR network.
