Tipsa launches the first application in Spain for payment by bank card from the delivery man’s PDA

The solution, developed in collaboration with BBVA and Rubean, allows delivery people’s PDAs to function as a Point of Sale Terminal (POS)

 

The urgent transport company Tipsa, in collaboration with BBVA and the German fintech Rubean, has made available to all its customers the first application in the sector at a national level for payment by bank card from the delivery person’s PDA.

Through this new “pioneering” solution in the Spanish urgent transport sector, which will be operational in the coming days, the PDAs of Tipsa’s delivery men will function as a POS, allowing the more than 30,000 clients of the transport company and their recipients can pay at the time of receiving the package and through a bank card.

In this way, the customer will not deposit the amount of his purchase until the product is in his possession, and in turn the delivery man will avoid carrying money on him. In addition, the operation will be completely ‘contactless’, since the customer will only have to bring their bank card or smartphone to manage the payment, thus maximizing the security, comfort and transparency of the entire delivery process.

Tipsa’s Consejera Delegada, Marisa Camacho, highlighted that thanks to this collaboration the company is taking “a giant step” in improving the quality of its cash on delivery services.

For his part, the Director of Means of Payment in BBVA Stores in Spain, Javier Urizar, celebrated this alliance, highlighting that they are “very happy” to collaborate to improve forms of payment in a sector as important as transport and logistics.

“This solution will help increase your sales and reduce your costs by improving your customers’ payment experience,”

he said.

Finally, the CEO of Rubean, Hermann Geupel, has highlighted that this project will be the first of its kind in Spain and will modernize the way people think about payment services at the door.
