2017 was marked by a significant acceleration of the partnership between Cdiscount and Chronopost. Indeed, in addition to continuing the pilot that we exclusively launched in October 2016 for Sunday morning delivery in Paris, we’ve innovated once again by launching Same Day delivery options in both Bordeaux and Paris.
The most remarkable innovation regarding this initiative, was the use of the high-speed railway line and the TGV between Bordeaux and Paris, to transport parcels and thus be able to deliver them to customer homes in the evening between 7 and 10 pm, for all orders confirmed before midday. In fact, Chronopost was able to support us in rapidly developing the geographical scope of this delivery option, and in broadening the offer to cover our different logistical sites. At the end of the year, Sunday delivery had been extended to include 15 large French cities, and we were able to propose delivery on Sunday 24th December, a unique offer to our customers in these 15 cities, granting them the opportunity to order up until 2 pm on Saturday 23rd for a delivery ‘under the tree’ just before Christmas! It’s one of the many strengths of the Chronopost network, supporting their clients all the way in order to satisfy the end customer.
2018 will again be marked by the development of our existing offers, in terms of geographical scope and eligible goods, but also, I hope, in the achievement and co-development of new and innovative offers.
We just want to thank you for making the move over to DPD so easy and efficient. I can't recommend you guys enough for everything from our delivery guys and your customer service staff, especially Dolores in depot 11. Linda has found her so helpful and can't do enough for us. I know it’s hard to move over when price is our original concern but I’m so happy we did, as I am now saving so much on my customer service working hours.
Working with SEUR gives us the peace of mind of counting with the leading company in the domestic market. The service offered is exceptional. SEUR allows a SME as Rivekids to compete in terms of delivery as a giant like Amazon. A 24 hours guaranteed service is a really competitive advantage for us.
They gave the support we needed 15 months before going into market.
We consider SEUR as part of our own team, since the company is responsible for completing our customers experience by delivering the parcels to our end-consignees. SEUR is also RiveCommunity.

Mrs Velasques lives in Martinique. Her daughter, who lives in Montpellier, sent to her, via Chronopost on 27th November, birthday party decorations (balloons / garlands / ribbon / tablecloths / confetti etc.) in two parcels, for a big party that would take place on 8th December. Both parcels were retained at our offices in Montpellier due to missing documentation (invoice and customs documents).
Mrs Velasques contacted customer services on 5th December because she was worried that she hadn’t received the parcels. I took charge of her request, and explained to her what was required in order to resolve the situation. We took the necessary steps together (sending of pro forma invoices with a declaration of goods for customs).
I followed up on her claim, both the parcels were eventually released, and they were delivered in time for the birthday party.
Mrs Velasques was extremely satisfied with the service provided.
Mail of thanks from Mrs Velasque
Dear Mrs Vuillemot,
Thank you for everything. I did in fact speak to Chronopost over the phone and I’m currently reassured. If everybody was as kind as you, life would be a thousand times better!!! DON’T CHANGE A THING. I hope that life repays you every day a hundredfold.
Late on Friday afternoon, we received an urgent call from a customer. He needed to send a machine piece to a newspaper in Almeria urgently. The piece should be received before 4.00 am. Without that element, the newspaper was not going to be able to print next day's edition.
It was almost impossible to manage our customer´s request, considering it was almost 9.00 pm: our trucks and vehicles had already left our facilities, and the transit time between Seville and Almeria was around 7 hours.
However, my husband (who was traffic manager at that moment) and the customer had a really empathetic phone call, so we decided to transport the merchandise to Almeria by ourselves.
Despite it was a hard journey, (it was almost midnight and we both had to drive in order to not fall asleep), we finally arrived to Almeria at 4:10 am. Our customer welcomed us with an enormous grateful smile.
At the end, it was worth our effort. We felt huge satisfaction when we came back home, and that feeling will be always kept in our memories.
