Parcel alert

Last update: Thursday December 24th 2020

Here You will find all the information about the peak period.

Coronavirus

We will keep you informed of all relevant developments at all times. We will also display all information and any delays on our website as well as possible for you and your customers. Our urgent advice to you is to display this information on your website in the best possible way, so that your customers also know what changes could be taken into account.

At DPD, we keep a close eye on the coronavirus situation worldwide and safeguard the guidelines from RIVM. Which is why DPD has taken the necessary precautions affected. We have taken special measures for our Linehaul drivers, warehouse workers, drivers and office workers how to deal with parcels from affected countries. We will observe all measures expected in accordance with the authorities. Our employees have been informed about this.

Due to the wide range of parcels and the measures surrounding the corona virus, the delivery of parcels takes longer than you are used to. We do our very best to get the delivery back to the desired level.

Status overview per country

* note: Countries are locked for people and not for goods.

Netherlands

Due to the lockdown, all non-essential stores must close. Pick-up parcelshops are officially exempted by the cabinet. A small part of our parcelshops have nevertheless closed their doors. We have collected the parcels at these parcelshops and returned them to the sender.

The usual working method for all private addresses is that your parcel is delivered to a Pickup parcelshop after a first unsuccessful delivery attempt. Due to the closure of a large number of stores that operate as parcel shops, this working method becomes unclear for the recipient. That is why, as of December 16, not only will a home delivery be introduced for the 2nd delivery attempt, but as the first party in the Netherlands we are now also introducing the 3rd delivery attempt at home. If the recipient still does not open on the 3rd delivery attempt, the parcel will be returned to the sender.

For all business addresses (companies / schools / shops) there will be no second delivery attempt . This naturally applies to business addresses that are open. For addresses that are closed, we will not deliver the parcels and return to sender. During this busy period, we need our capacity for addresses that we can deliver. That is why we advise you again to check in advance whether the recipient of your shipment is open before submitting the shipment to DPD.

As of December 15, non-essential stores are closed. Pickup parcel shops are officially exempted by the cabinet. Some of the parcel shops are expected to close their doors nevertheless. Via our parcelshop finder we display the available shops every day. Since this can change per day, we will keep this up to date for you every day. We will do our best to also provide you with news reports as accurately as possible with the latest developments regarding the Pickup parcelshop network.

Due to the public holidays, no collections will be made on December 24 and 31. For more information, see our website.
