Export to UK - Senders

Is your product manufactured in the EU and do you want to export it to the UK via DPD? Then you may be eligible for a reduced import duty rate or even zero rate.

In order to qualify for a lower or zero tariff after 1 January 2022, you need to go through a number of steps. If you have doubts or if you want to know more about the preferential rate, please visit the website of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. Or contact the customs authorities.

Step 1: Download the form on on dpd.nl

From 1 January 2022 you must present a document stating that your goods originate (i.e. are manufactured) in the EU, or in a country in the EFTA.

Step 2: Fill in the following fields:

  • EORI number of the sender
  • Full name of the sender
  • HS codes to which the scheme applies
  • Country of origin

Step 3: Add the following sentence to your trade invoice, so that the preferential rate of duty will be applied to products manufactured within the EU.

The exporter of the products, covered by this document, declares that, except where otherwise clearly indicated, these products are of … (country of manufacture in EU or EVA/EFTA) preferential origin.

Step 4: Send the completed and signed document to DPD via [email protected]. Please include the EORI number and company name as the subject of the email.

DPD will verify the information you have sent. If it is correct, you will receive confirmation from DPD. The declaration we give is valid for five years. We will check its validity once a year.

PLEASE NOTE: If you apply this preferential rate of duty and it becomes apparent during Customs inspections that you are not entitled to apply it, you will be charged the full amount of customs duty, together with an additional fine!

TIP: If you have consignments or products manufactured within the EU with a value of €6,000 or more, you will also need a REX (‘Registered EXporter’) registration number. You can enter this number in the declaration on your trade invoice. See the example below.

The exporter of the products covered by this document (Exporter Reference No ...) declares that, except where otherwise clearly indicated, these products are of ... (country of manufacture in EU or EVA/EFT) preferential origin. ..................................... (Place and date) ....................................... (Name of the exporter)
