European Young E-shoppers Study

Online shopping can be an emotional rollercoaster, as is shown in a study by DPDgroup in cooperation with InProcess, that specialises in ethnographic research.

Young online shoppers experience substantial emotional ups and downs during the online shopping process, depending on their experience with the web shop, the payment systems, the delivery, and possible return options.

The qualitative study took place in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and Poland among 18 to 25 year olds. Important markets to which many Dutch web shops ships parcels with DPD. Forty consumers were extensively interviewed and recorded their online shopping experiences with a camera for one week. Interesting fact: despite a similar customer journey we still found differences in experience per country.
