Data protection in the DPD Romania courier system

DPD Romania processes the following data of the data subjects: shippers of parcels, shipments, including content details and delivery information, recipients of parcels, transport subcontractors, drivers and registered users of DPD Romania services (in applications / or on the site).

In addition to address information, communication data and contact names, this also includes legal and billing information relevant to individual shipments, e.g. dangerous goods clauses, customs information, information on the shipment transfer, amounts collected on delivery, information on the tracking of transport (status and current location of shipments), as well as additional information on the delivery of shipments provided by the shipper or consignee. The content of the consignments becomes known only in the case of customs requirements or if it is necessary to open the package in the absence of external information necessary to identify the consignee in accordance with the Law on Postal Services. The retention period of this data is primarily based on various legal and organizational requirements.

The data are processed mainly within the EU, unless a shipment is destined for a Non-EU country.

DPD Romania uses and processes personal data only within the companies involved. There is no transfer of data by sale, rental or exchange. If DPD Romania transmits the data to external service providers for the execution of a service, they are obliged to comply with the provisions of the EU GDPR (Article 28) or other legal provisions on confidentiality. DPD Romania does not transmit personal data to third parties, unless the transfer fulfills the purpose of the contract (subcontractors and couriers acting on behalf of DPD Romania), the persons concerned have given their consent (for example those who use applications DPD Romania, MyDPD, Webservice, E-commerce Extensions) or there is a legal obligation to transmit data (for example, for customs declarations or information on dangerous goods).

DPD Romania takes the appropriate technical and organizational precautions to ensure the security of personal data processed by DPD. The data is carefully protected against loss, destruction, falsification, manipulation and unauthorized access or disclosure. The staff and partners of DPD Romania are obliged to maintain the secrecy of the courier service and the confidentiality of personal data and are trained on how to process the data. The security of the computer systems used is regularly monitored. .
