Today, Maya (Team Leader Chech-In) answers our interesting questions:
DPD: «As a Team Leader in Check-In, you are a key interface within the depot – what makes this role particularly exciting for you? »
Maya: «What makes this role particularly exciting for me is its variety. In Check-In, you work daily with different departments, drivers, and transport partners. This provides insights into many areas of the depot. No two days are the same, and that’s exactly what makes the role so interesting.»
DPD: «What are the key factors to ensure everything runs smoothly in Check-In?»
Maya: «From my perspective, smooth operations in Check-In rely above all on good communication, close teamwork, and strong organization. It’s also essential that everyone knows their tasks and responsibilities and can rely on one another. Only by working together and supporting each other can we successfully manage daily challenges. Flexibility also plays an important role, as situations can change at short notice.»
DPD: «How do you handle stressful situations or high parcel volumes in your daily work?»
Maya: «In stressful situations or when parcel volumes are high, I first try to maintain an overview and analyze the situation. Instead of letting pressure guide me, I set clear priorities and focus on the most important tasks. At the same time, it’s crucial to delegate tasks effectively and use available resources wisely. A structured approach and focusing on solutions rather than problems help me a lot.»
DPD: «What motivates you most in your role at DPD?»
Maya: «I’m motivated by the opportunity to make a difference. I enjoy improving processes, solving challenges as a team, and seeing my team grow. It makes me proud to see colleagues develop and achieve our goals together. I particularly appreciate being able to take responsibility and actively contribute to the development of the Check-In area. Seeing our joint efforts pay off motivates me every day.»
DPD: «How do you unwind after an intense workday?»
Maya: «Sometimes a long commute has its advantages. I consciously use the journey home to switch off and leave the workday behind. It helps me clear my mind and transition into my personal time. Once I’m home, I enjoy spending time with my family or simply relaxing. I especially value these quiet moments as they help me recharge.»
DPD: «Do you have a hobby or passion that is particularly important to you?»
Maya: «One of my hobbies is going to the gym. I particularly value the discipline and consistency it requires. You set goals, work towards them continuously, and see progress over time. This mindset can also be applied to professional life, where perseverance and continuous development are equally important.»
DPD: «If you had a spontaneous free weekend, how would you spend it?»
Maya: «If I have a free weekend, I like to use the time for small trips. I enjoy being on the move and discovering new places or simply having a change of scenery. It doesn’t always have to be a big trip – often the small excursions are the most enjoyable, whether it’s a day trip, visiting another city, or spending time in nature.»
A big thank you to Maya for the open insights and her daily commitment. Stay tuned for more stories in our “Depot Story” series and get to know more employees who contribute every day to reliable parcel delivery.
