KMSK Swiss Challenge

Our motto is ‘Achieving our goal together.’

With our Team DPD Switzerland and our willingness to take part, we would also like to make a major contribution to this year’s the Fördervereins für Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten’s KMSK Swiss Challenge as a Gold benefactor.

Our team currently consists of 40 participants and has collected more than 30,000 Fredi points up to now. That is a distance of over 6,800 km and it’s far from the final number because we love to sweat.

We asked our four top performers what they make of the challenge and what motivates them. 😊

Top athlete Dominique: our fourth place

DPD: The challenge is pretty much at half-time now: what’s your aim for what still lies ahead?
Dominique: ‘It would be nice if I can keep this rhythm of getting moving doing different types of sport going. It’s fun and is very good for my health.’

DPD: Did you have to be talked into taking part in this challenge?
Dominique: ‘I didn’t know the challenge at all. So I read the information about the challenge and the KMSK first. Then I thought that if I could do some good with sporting activities that I do for myself anyway, then I have to take part. 😊
But the thing I underestimated was the incentives that accompany the challenge: the fact that you’re helping others by taking part. As a result, I’m now moving about twice as much as usual and it’s great for my health. Basically, everyone wins.’

DPD: Would you ever have thought that so many people from DPD take part and collect so many Freddies?
Dominique: ‘If I’m honest, I’d hoped that even more people take part, something I’d still like now. 😊 It’s very simple. You don’t have to change your daily routine and you support a good cause at the same time. Just recording the activities (walking, hiking, cycling and much more) helps. It’s never too late and it takes every single person to reach the goal.’

KMSK Dominique
KMSK Claudia

Top athlete Claudia: our third place

DPD: What motivated you to take part in the KMSK Swiss Challenge?
Claudia: ‘When I heard about the KMSK Swiss Challenge, you could immediately count me in. Being part of this great initiative is extremely fulfilling and I’m convinced that we can ALL achieve the goal TOGETHER by 01 October 2021.’

DPD: Would you say that you are moving or doing more sport than usual with/thanks to the challenge?
Claudia: ‘I generally like to move and do sport, too. But yes, I’ve been doing more sporting activities since starting the challenge so that I can do my absolute best.’

DPD: Does this challenge also spur you on?
Claudia: ‘Absolutely! As I said, it’s very fulfilling to be part of this incredible initiative. I can only appeal to everyone out there: if you’re not taking part yet, sign up so that we can reach the goal of 1 million Fröschli as soon as possible and raise the CHF 50,000 for affected families. Because TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!’

Top athlete Marc: our second place

DPD: Had you heard of KMSK or taken part in another challenge of this kind (charity) before the challenge?
Marc: ‘No, I didn’t know this challenge, nor did I know KMSK. But I like to play golf and there are charity tournaments every now and again where the proceeds (entry fee, donations, etc.) are donated to non-profit organisations. I’ve taken part in tournaments like that before.’

DPD: What do you like about the challenge?
Marc: ‘It’s easy to take part. I only record the sport that I do anyway and that way I don’t just do something good for my health and well-being, but also support KSMK with this great initiative. On top of that, this initiative motivates me to do one or two more training sessions from time to time 😊.’

DPD: Would you take part again in 2022?
Marc: ‘Of course! I also like the idea of doing something for a good cause.’

KMSK Marc
KMSK Birgit

Top athlete Birgit: our first place

DPD: What motivated you to take part in the KMSK Swiss Challenge?
Birgit: ‘I never have a problem with motivation when it comes to sporting activities because I grew up with sport and had lots of wonderful experiences, and I enjoy it even more when I can do it for a good cause.’

DPD: Were you also able to motivate people from your sphere outside of DPD to take part in the challenge or collect donations?
Birgit: ‘No, I unfortunately couldn’t convince any other people. That’s probably because I’m mainly at home in Germany.’

DPD: Did you ordered a DPD Swiss Challenge t-shirt?
Birgit: ‘Yes, I did. On the one hand, I like the look of the shirt and on the other hand, I like to show for what and whom I’m on the road 😊.’

We’re going get moving and up the pace!
