From carbon neutral to net zero: DPD’s road to a greener future

At DPD Switzerland, environmental protection has always been at the centre of our activities. Our practice of carbon-neutral delivery since 2012 was an important first step. Now we are going a step further and focusing fully on our ambitious net-zero strategy from 2024.

Our aim is to save more than 10,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2030. We are achieving this by consistently switching to alternative energies and by electrifying our fleet. We have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 10 % compared to last year and tripled the proportion of electric vehicles in our fleet. The entire delivery fleet will be electrified by 2030 and the line haul fleet by 2035. All our depots already obtain electricity from 100 % renewable energies today. This is a decisive step towards our net-zero target.

In this context, we are stopping our previous practice of fully offsetting CO2 emissions by the end of the year. Instead, we are focusing on our ambitious net-zero strategy, aiming to reduce at least 90 % of greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 compared to 2020.
