Changes to amount and calculation of Energy & CPI surcharge

Changes to the amount of DPD’s Energy & CPI surcharge and the method used to calculate it will come into effect on 1 January 2026.

Key details:

  • The lowest possible rate for the Energy & CPI surcharge from 1 January 2026 will be 7.75%.

  • Going forward, two types of energy will be taken into account in the calculation of the energy carrier surcharge: diesel and electricity. The latest price statistics are publicly available for both.

  • The base price for diesel was derived from the average of European Commission statistics for weeks 19-44 of 2025.

  • The base price for electricity was derived from the average of Nord Pool’s monthly statistics for May-October 2025.

The need for these changes is due to the significant increase in input prices, in particular the volatility of energy carriers and the increase in price levels in general. The setting of a minimum rate will help to ensure that the price of the service not only covers costs which are strictly necessary, but also enables the quality and reliability of the service to be maintained.
