Follow these simple rules and you can be sure that the consignment will reach its destination safely.

General packaging

The material of the outer packaging must correspond to the weight of the contents. Check that the packaging is strong enough. Are you sending more than one parcel? Make sure each parcel has its own parcel label.

Suitable outer packaging

Suitable transport packaging is a box made of e.g. corrugated board or plastic, its possible fastening accessories include e.g. tape, string or wrapping film. Packaging accessories such as corner protectors, cushions, filling material, etc. and additional labels: red glass label, position of the parcel in transport, etc. The nature, weight, shape, mode of transport and distance the goods travel must be considered when choosing the materials/labels used.

Inner packaging

Free space between the goods and the box must be filled on all sides with filling material intended for this purpose, so that the transport packaging would not lose its shape and the goods would move inside the packaging. Use bubble wrap, shredded paper, corrugated cardboard, special air-filled airbags, etc. for inner packaging. If possible, also use corner guards and / or flexible styrofoam sheets.

Parcel label

If you use packaging with old stickers / labels, please remove them. Otherwise, the parcel may go to the wrong recipient. The parcel must be labelled with a DPD parcel label. The parcel label must contain information about the sender's and recipient's contacts.

If you do not have the possibility to print it out:

  • You can print a parcel label out from a parcel locker using the QR or PIN code.

  • An unlabelled parcel can be shipped from a parcel shop by showing the QR code you received to your e-mail to a parcel shop employee.

  • Unlabelled parcels cannot be shipped from a parcel robot, as these do not have printing capability. All parcels must be pre-labelled.

Size

When sending a parcel, the size of the parcel must also be considered.

The size of the whole parcel is calculated as follows: length + 2 x width + 2 x height.

The maximum consignment size is 3 m.

If you are sending a parcel through a pickup point or parcel locker, the maximum consignment diameter is 2.5 m.

Pallets

The maximum permissible weight of one parcel is 31.5 kg. From 31.5 kg upwards, the transport cost of the parcel is calculated on the basis of calculated weight. The actual and volumetric weights of the consignment are compared and used as a basis. Parcels heavier than 31.5 kg must be placed on a pallet for transport.

Maximum dimensions of a consignment on a pallet:

  •  Maximum length: 1.8 m (lowest estimated height of the parcel 1.0 m)

  •  Weight: 31.6 kg – 700 kg

  •  Note: If you have more than one parcel and want to calculate the total volumetric weight, add the volumetric weight of the parcels together.
