Dear Customer
Starting from 1 April 2026, changes will take effect regarding the maximum weight limits for courier and parcel locker shipments in Lithuania - the new maximum permitted weight for courier parcels is 25 kg and for parcel locker parcels 20 kg.
These amendments arise from Lithuanian occupational safety requirements and recommendations issued by the national labour inspectorate, which are based on European Union directives concerning manually handled loads. These requirements apply to all companies operating in Lithuania, and all courier service providers, including DPD, must bring their service conditions into compliance with the applicable legislation.
Courier parcels:
Parcels weighing up to 25 kg will continue to be delivered by the courier to the recipient’s doorstep.
For parcels exceeding the 25 kg limit, the recipient is responsible for unloading the goods from the delivery vehicle and transporting them to the desired location. If the recipient does not wish to do this, a two‑man delivery service must be ordered for the shipment, or the goods should be packed into multiple parcels, each not exceeding 25 kg.
For parcels exceeding the 25 kg limit, the sender is responsible for loading the goods onto the delivery vehicle. If the sender is not prepared to do this, the collection of the parcel will not be carried out.
To avoid misunderstandings, we kindly ask to ensure before shipping that, for heavier shipments the two‑man delivery service has been ordered, or to inform the sender/recipient in advance that the parcel will need to be unloaded from or loaded into the vehicle without courier assistance.
Parcel locker parcels:
The maximum weight for parcel locker shipments in Lithuania will be up to 20 kg. There are no changes to the allowed dimensions of parcels.
