DPD Polska history

DPD Polska (formerly Masterlink Express) started its operations in 1991 as a company with 100% Polish capital. In 1998, the company was bought by the Swedish Post Group. This allowed for further dynamic development, improvement of the website and expansion of the range of services offered. In July 2002, the company became a representative of DPD, thanks to which it gained access to a network covering over 30 European countries. The 100% stake in Air Cargo Poland, purchased in October 2002, allowed for the expansion of the range of services to include customs and shipping activities - air, sea and road.

In May 2004, the French GeoPost holding, owned by the French Post Office La Poste, became the sole owner of Masterlink. In 2007, the company officially changed its name to DPD Polska Sp. z o.o.

In 2006-2012, the logistics infrastructure was dynamically expanded. The new DPD Polska Central Sorting Faclity in Stryków closed the construction period of the so-called DPD Polska "Diament", connecting the largest regional sorting centers in the country.

Thanks to the support of the French Post, the company was able to make significant investments in development. In April 2014, DPD Polska submitted an offer to purchase the Siódemka courier company, belonging to the Abris investment fund. In October of the same year, UOKIK approved the acquisition, as a result of which the DPD Group became one of the leaders of the Polish courier market, with 24% share and an annual turnover exceeding PLN 1 billion.

In 2015, DPD Polska changed its market image along with all entities covered by the new DPDgroup visual identity. This is due to the new strategy of the brand owner, GeoPost holding. The introduced changes are the result of a new approach to customer service, based on close business partnership, focus on consumer needs and closer integration between the holding companies. A priority for DPDgroup, the international courier network of the Geopost holding, is to ensure uniform standards of customer service in all countries of the group.

In 2016, the company celebrated its 25th anniversary. It introduced a solution important for consumers: card payments for shipments paid on delivery. It also launched a network of DPD Pickup points of dispatch and collection, currently consisting of over 2600 outlets.

In April 2017, DPD Polska introduced another consumer solution - fast BLIK payments for settling amounts due for cash on delivery.

In 2018, DPD Polska introduced two new services for business - DPD Today, which guarantees delivery on the day of shipment in the largest cities and night deliveries that make it easier for stationary stores of large chains to prepare for everyday sales.

DPDgroup is the second largest international courier network in Europe. It combines innovative technology and local knowledge, providing flexible and friendly services for both broadcasters and recipients. DPDgroup delivers 4.8 million shipments worldwide daily under the trade names DPD, Chronopost, SEUR and BRT.
