Although we undertake to handle any parcels within our network with the utmost care - parcels are handled numerous times as they travel through our network so it is important that they are packaged correctly to safeguard against any damage.

Packing in general

Before packing your parcel, please check that the items you are sending are not on the prohibited or restricted items list in the country of origin or destination. Please consult the prohibited items list for further details.

The packaging material used must be strong enough to support the weight of the parcel's contents.

If you are planning to send more than one parcel, please do not stick or bundle parcels together but rather package them separately and provide a parcel label for each parcel.

Outer packaging

Boxes can be bought which are specially designed for shipping goods. These are stronger and offer the best possible protection for the contents of your parcel. If you are re-using a box, ensure it is in good condition. Once a cardboard box has been damaged, it becomes weaker.

If you are using a flyer bag, please ensure that the items placed inside the flyer bag are suitably cushioned and wrapped with appropriate material, as flyer bags are designed as a means of carriage and not protection.

Inner packaging

Is the box larger than the item you are shipping? Always fill the space around the item completely. Use soft filling material for light goods and stronger filling material for heavier items. This will ensure the correct protection and prevent the items from shifting while in transit.

Are you shipping several items in one package? Wrap each item in the parcel separately and fill spaces in your package with suitable filler. It is important that items within parcels do not touch each other or come into direct contact with the outer packaging while in transit. As a guide, if you can hear or feel the contents of the package moving inside, then they are not adequately packed.

Recipient’s address

Please ensure address details are clear and visible and that you have securely attached the waybill document to your parcel.

Please remember to remove all old labels from the outer packaging.

You can also provide us with your what3words address to ensure we can find your exact location.

Maximum dimensions and weight

Maximum dimensions and weight

Handling oversized and overweight items through our network may cause delays and/or damage to both your or other people's parcels, so to avoid this we have set a few limitations.

Our preferred parcel weight is <30kg with a maximum length of 80cm. There are a couple of exceptions: we are able to accommodate heavier items (<60kg) in our domestic Terminal to Terminal offering as well as in our International Airfreight and Cross-border Road Freight services.

Volumetric weight

The volumetric weight is a calculation that determines the amount of space a parcel occupies in the aircraft or vehicle. As space is often a limiting factor, we calculate our charges on the greater of volumetric weight or actual weight.

The volumetric weight is calculated as follows:

Length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm) / 5000
