Dear customers,
We would like to inform you about the following changes in additional services:
Cash on Delivery to Bulgaria
From January 1, 2026, Bulgaria will switch its currency from BGN to EUR. After this date, it will no longer be possible to accept shipments with cash on delivery in BGN. Please adjust your own technical solutions in a timely manner in connection with this change. If you use DPD's technical solutions, the change will be implemented automatically in advance.
If you hand over a shipment to Bulgaria before January 1, 2026 (with a pick-up date in the Czech Republic until December 31, 2025) and the shipment is delivered after January 1, 2026, the currency conversion will be automatically done at the rate of 1 EUR = 1.95583 BGN.
If you hand over a shipment with cash on delivery in BGN after January 1, 2026, the shipment may be rejected and returned to the sender due to failure to meet transport conditions.
Extended Cover
The option to set an individual amount for Extended Cover (previously also called Additional Insurance), i.e., increasing the shipper's liability above CZK 500,000, is discontinued.
If the sender still hands over a shipment with Extended Cover above the value of CZK 500,000, the shipment will be delivered, but DPD's liability will be limited to a maximum amount of CZK 500,000. A surcharge will be charged to the sender according to the current price list based on the declared value of CZK 500,000.
More information is available in the document "Main and Additional Services" on the DPD website. Documents for download | DPD
When arranging Extended Cover, the sender is obliged to declare the actual value of the goods. Even with Extended Cover arranged, transport conditions (contents and proper packaging) must be met. The sender is only responsible for the actual damage to the shipment according to the claims procedure terms.
