DPD Latvia is the leader in the courier services segment in Latvia for the second consecutive year

The international parcel delivery company DPD Latvia, for the second year in a row, takes the 1st place and strengthens its leading position as the largest courier parcel delivery service in Latvia. This year DPD Latvia is also ranked 1st in the annual TOP 500 ranking of Latvia's largest companies by Dienas Bizness Newspaper, as the largest courier delivery service in Latvia, and 10th among the TOP logistics companies in the provision of parcel delivery.

With the rapid development of e-commerce, the parcel delivery industry has grown rapidly in recent years and people's shopping habits have changed significantly. Appreciating the convenience of remote shopping, people are increasingly ordering goods online by courier or through the Pickup parcel locker network. As a result, the parcel delivery industry needs to continuously invest in development to deal with growing volumes, while fostering growth and high quality of service.

Jānis Grants, Chairman of the Board of DPD Latvia, points out that, given the intense competition in the sector, strengthening the leading position is an important recognition of the work of the company's team and a confirmation of the future development directions. "Clearly, the experience of the past years now allows us to better plan the company's resources and future development.  We are already seeing that past investments in infrastructure and innovation are paying off, delivering growing volumes and customer service. Thanks to well-thought-out work process planning and a targeted investment programme, investing in the improvement of daily work processes, DPD Latvia has managed to maintain stable volumes and increase turnover indicators, strengthening its leading position in the industry and gradually increasing the growth volumes of previous years," J.Grants reveals.

To meet the growing demand, DPD Latvia implemented an ambitious investment programme, gradually expanding the infrastructure of the DPD Latvia Pickup parcel locker network, as well as modernising the parcel handling process to ensure faster delivery of parcels. In addition, DPD Latvia also invested in expanding its operations to other European countries, providing international parcel delivery options to more than 48,000 DPD Pickup Points in 16 European countries.

In recent years DPD Latvia has also invested in the development of various innovative solutions for digitisation of customer service processes, improving customer service and enhancing the ease of use of the service for both private and business customers. This year DPD Latvia modernised its online self-service website for private customers for more convenient parcel processing and tracking. In addition, a new online platform for business customers, Business myDPD, was launched, allowing business customers to easily process, manage and coordinate their shipments.

With environmental sustainability in mind, to reduce the brand's ecological footprint and to ensure more environmentally friendly parcel deliveries to customers, DPD Latvia has expanded the number of electric vehicles, creating the largest and "greenest" parcel delivery electric vehicle fleet with its own car charging infrastructure in Latvia.  According to DPD Latvia's Sustainability Development Programme, it is planned to ensure 100% emission-neutral parcel delivery in Riga and the Baltic Sea Region by 2030.

DPD Latvia climbs the TOP 500 list of Latvia's largest companies, taking 17th place in 2021, which is 336 positions higher than in 2020, when DPD Latvia was ranked 353rd among Latvia's largest and most valuable companies.
