In order for your parcels to be processed in the best conditions, they must comply with standards.

These standards enable us to guarantee you cost savings, processing quality, increased productivity and the safety of your goods. These standards must be adhered to for all your international shipments :

  • 30kg per parcel maximum.
  • Area : 3 m max.
  • Length : 1,75 m max.

Volumetric weight (VW) calculation rule.

According to the rules of air transport, DPD applies a tax based on the weight/volume ratio. The volumetric weight is compared to the actual weight of the shipment. DPD's contractual liability is set out in the General Terms and Conditions of Sale, based on the provisions of the French Transport Code (Decree no. 2017-461 of 31 March 2017), the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) of 19 May 1956, the Warsaw Convention of 12 October 1929 and the Montreal Convention of 28 May 1999. In the event of loss, deterioration or any material damage resulting in the total or partial destruction of the parcels and goods entrusted to the company, DPD and its insurers are liable for up to €33 per kilo, with a maximum of €1,000 per parcel.

To cover the total or partial loss or deterioration of your goods up to their actual value, you can have the contents of your parcels insured by DPD on your behalf in return for payment of the corresponding premium. You will thus benefit from full compensation, including in the event of force majeure.

Customs formalities apply to all intercontinental destinations.

The same customs rules apply as for exporting goods to Europe.

The incoterm used is DAP (delivered at place):

  • Transport costs to be paid by the sender

  • Duties and taxes payable by the consignee

 

For some destinations, it is possible to use DDP (Delivered Duty Paid):

  • Transport costs to be paid by the sender
  • Duties and taxes to be paid by the sender
