GeoPost/DPDgroup submits its net-zero target to the Science Based Target initiative

In a context of rapid growth in the e-commerce and parcel delivery sectors, GeoPost/DPDgroup submitted on 11 July 2022 both a near-term decarbonization and an ambitious long-term net-zero target for approval by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi). This step demonstrates Geopost’s ambition to lead on net-zero emissions in the parcel delivery market. As a pioneer in its sector, the company is taking decisive action to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040 and commits to reduce its scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 43% by 2030 and 90% by 2040 from a 2020 baseline– 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement.

Towards a better planet

DPD has recently started its support for forest conservation with ANP|WWF, a non-profit NGO that works in line with the WWF's global vision and strategy and whose mission is the conservation of national biodiversity and ecosystems forestry, the protection of marine biodiversity and the promotion of fisheries sustainability, the conservation of freshwater ecosystems and their water resources. The ANP|WWF also intervenes on the topic of climate change and the promotion of sustainable consumption.

Among the projects that the DPD proposed to help, are the Green Heart of Cork, which aims to conserve the largest patch of cork oak trees in the world and protect one of the most threatened cultural landscapes in Portugal, and Earth Hour, a movement of global sustainability in order to take a stand against climate change.

We believe that together we can make a difference and make our planet a better place.
