DPD updates online shipping platform: Web Parcel 2.0

More opportunities for private shippers and small web shops

The past year has seen an unprecedented boom in e-commerce. Never before have individuals and businesses bought and sold more online. To respond even better to this development, we have worked over the past months on the further improvement of Web Parcel, DPD’s online shipping portal for private and professional shippers with less than 25 parcels a month.

With Web Parcel, private and professional shippers were previously able to drop off parcels at a Pickup parcelshop and have them delivered to a home address or to a parcelshop. Thanks to the associated Predict notification, the recipient was then given a time window of one hour for the delivery of the parcel.

Now that more second-hand goods are being sold, many shops have switched to online sales and new user groups (55+) are also shipping online, Web Parcel was ready for an update. With the updated version we meet the new needs and offer an even better customer experience.

New features

Users of Web Parcel 2.0 can now also enjoy these new functions:

  • Additional payment options: post-payment and PayPal

  • Multi parcel shipment: book several parcels to different destinations in one order

  • Helpdesk with live chat

  • Personal guidance during start-up for professional users

Dpd.be as a starting point for all shipments

The Web Parcel platform was also integrated into the DPD website. This will be the fixed starting point for all recipients and senders. The current URL dpdwebparcel.be will continue to exist next to dpd.be.

All parcels booked via Web Parcel are sent CO2-neutral, just like all other parcels in our network. Our innovations also contribute to reducing our ecological impact. Thanks to Predict notifications, we emit 5%* less greenhouse gases, with the Pickup network the saving is even up to 63%*.
