Each parcel has a special parcel label number. With this number you can track the progress of your parcel online. Simply navigate to the DPD Track & Trace and enter your parcel number. As a DPD customer, you’ll receive a login for DPD Shipping Report. This portal gives you a complete overview of your shipments as well as your shipment history. Try connecting here. If you don’t have a login, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

The longest side of the parcel should be no longer than 175 cm and the overall size (2x height + 2x width + length) should be 300 cm maximum.

Individual parcels must not be heavier than 31,5 kg. The maximum weight for parcels which are handled via our Pickup network is 20 kg.

Our drivers make two delivery attempts as standard. if the consignee is not present at the address, the driver will leave a note in the letterbox. The driver will then attempt to deliver the parcel again on the next working day. If the consignee is absent once again, the driver will leave another note in the letterbox. The note explains how the consignee can obtain the parcel.

As of 1 January 2023, the fuel surcharge is being replaced by the energy surcharge. More information can be found here.

The girth is the maximum permitted parcel size. It is calculated as follows: (height + width) x 2 + length of the parcel in cm. You can calculate this conveniently online in our girth calculator.

A precise calculation of the transport costs can only be made if all the necessary shipping details for your parcel are available. This is the only way to avoid unnecessary surcharges for parcels which haven\'t been weighed or measured correctly. You can use your own scales, for example, to check the weight of the parcel. To measure the parcel you can use a ruler, a folding rule or a measuring tape. DPD reserves the right to apply a surcharge if the consignor\'s parcel data diverges from the measurements which are taken at the depot.

No. We only accept parcels that are ready for shipment. For DPD to safely transport a parcel, it must be properly packed before we can accept it.

Volumetric weight is a standard formula which is used in the airline industry and which includes density in the calculation of the transport costs. Volumetric weight is based on the volumetric standard of IATA (International Air Transport Association). On the basis of this calculation the space which the parcel will occupy inside the aircraft is compared with the actual weight of the parcel.

The shipping cost is based on the higher of the two values, in other words either the actual overall weight or the volumetric weight of the parcel. The higher weight is then used for the calculation of the shipping tariff.

The calculation of the volumetric weight depends on the individual service provider. As a rule the following formula is used:

Length x width x height / 6000 = volumetric weight

The DPD volumetric-weight calculator will help you to calculate the volumetric weight of your parcel quickly and conveniently.

(for shipments which contain a number of packages you simply add the individual results)

For our own protection and the protection of our customers, there are some goods we cannot store or send. First and foremost these are objects that are classed as hazardous under national and international laws. Also excluded from transport are any items that might represent a danger to people or other goods being transported, on account of their characteristics or their packaging. Also excluded from transport are:

  • Jewels, precious stones, precious metals, pearls

  • Securities (coins, banknotes, bills of exchange, bearer titles and other titles)

  • Means of payment (credit cards, non-cleared checks, etc.)

  • Artworks, antiques, unique articles

  • Publications or audiovisual media prohibited by law

During transport it is impossible to avoid impact and vibration. This is why it\'s important to protect your parcel as well as possible. Otherwise there will be a risk that it could be damaged in transit. Cardboard boxes are used most often, and these are accepted by every depot. The depots expressly point out in their conditions of transport that parcels must be packed securely against transport risks.
  • External packaging:
You should always use new, good quality packaging which will be strong enough for the contents and will not be crushed if your cardboard box is stacked with other boxes. Please make sure that the box is big enough to contain additional filling material. You should also remove all stickers and any other shipping data.
  • Padding:
Filling material should be added so that the contents of your package are unable to move around inside the box. Fragile and easily damaged goods should be packed individually. The contents of the parcel should be protected from all sides with filling material.
  • Sealing:
Parcels should be securely sealed with non-tear adhesive tape which is suitable for transport purposes. You should not use string or twine, and no paper wrapping. The shipping documents and the necessary labels must be applied to the top surface of the cardboard box. By \'top surface\' we mean the largest level surface of the box. The shipping documents should never be applied on seams or on the adhesive tape. To make doubly sure you should put details of the consignee address inside the parcel.

You can create the parcel label via our online shipping tool DPD Web Parcel. Next, stick the label on your parcel and bring it to a Pickup parcelshop closeby.

You can drop the package in any pickup parcelshop. To find your nearest parcelshop is in your area, see our Pickup parcelshop finder.

Please report this as quickly as possible to our Customer Care center in Belgium.

Parcels which you ship with DPD are automatically insured to a goods value of up to €520. Business customers have the additional possibility of arranging for higher insurance on demand. Please note that higher insurance can only be concluded for individual orders. You can require a higher insurance here.

If you use the Predict service, DPD will inform the private consignee in advance about the day on which the parcel is scheduled for delivery. If the day in question is not convenient, the consignee can change the day anywhere up to one hour prior to delivery. All the consignee has to do is follow the link in the notification (SMS or email) sent by DPD in order to change the delivery date.

The consignee can have the date and address of delivery changed and

  • collect the parcel from their nearest Pickup parcel shop,

  • have it delivered on a different day,

  • have it delivered to a different address, or

  • have it deposited at a safe location.

On the day of delivery itself, the consignee will be informed by email or SMS of the one-hour time window in which the parcel will arrive.

This is available from stationery shops, supermarkets or DIY stores. Often they will let you have cardboard boxes and other packaging material free of charge. In order to ensure trouble-free shipping it is essential to use the right packaging material.

If the consignee can\'t be located, the driver leaves a notification card in the consignee\'s letter box after the first delivery attempt. The driver will drop off the parcel at a Pickup parcel shop where it will be stored for 7 working days. After that, the parcel will go back to the hub where it finally will be returned to sender.

For a 2B sending, the driver will make three delivery attempts. In case non of the deliveries was successful, the parcel will be shipped back to sender.

Sorry, unfortunately we aren\'t able to deliver to P.O. Boxes.

To counter the fluctuating and rapidly rising costs of fuel and energy sources for our fleet, DPD applies the energy surcharge for road shipments. Therefore the surcharge is based not only on current diesel prices but also on the development of electricity and gas prices on the market. The energy surcharge will be designed dynamically and will be charged per parcel
