E-Shopper Barometer

Study conducted by the DPDgroup

Between 30 May and 12 July 2018, 24,328 interviews were carried out in 22 European countries on behalf of the DPDgroup for the “E-shopper barometer”. In Switzerland, 1001 people took part in the survey. Of those, 52% were men and 48% women, aged between 18 and 34 (millennials, 37%), between 35 and 54 (46%) and over 55 (17%). The ratio between city- and country-dwellers was 85 to 15%.

The number of online buyers in Switzerland remained constant compared to the previous year, but is still below the European average. Swiss people buy fashion and shoes online. The overwhelming majority (82%) of Swiss e-shoppers have already made purchases on foreign websites; however, there seems to be an increase in mispurchases - the return rate is rising again. This is shown by the E-Shopper Barometer, a study conducted by the DPDgroup in 22 European countries.
