Energy Surcharge

The energy surcharge is a surcharge on the fare, expressed as a percentage.

It is updated regularly every month.

Domestic transport:

  • The energy surcharge for October 2024 is 9,3%.

International road transport:

  • The energy surcharge for October 2024 is 11.7%.

Instead of the energy surcharge, a fuel surcharge based on the price of aviation petrol is applied to air transport. The fuel surcharge is 23 %.

How to calculate Energy Surcharge?

As of 1 January 2024, a new amount of the toll  applies = CZK 0.90 excluding VAT for each kilogram of the weight of the transported consignment.

Tolls are paid only for land transport, not air transport.

Security surcharge – sanctions and embargoes.

International sanctions are restrictive measures that the international organizations (UN, EU), and possibly also individual states (especially the USA), use as a tool to fight against terrorism and its support, prevent money laundering, protect human rights and peace, etc.

In the context of the Czech Republic, embargoes currently apply to the ban on doing business with the following countries: North Korea, Syria, Cuba, South Sudan and Burma. Other destinations might be temporarily excluded, too.

These surcharges apply to the international transport

New surcharge prices applies from 1 January 2024:

  • SK: 3,- CZK / shipment
  • Other countries: 6,- CZK / shipment

Seasonal surcharge

The seasonal surcharge is a surcharge to compensate for increased labour costs during the high volume season (peak period). It is invoiced automatically on top of the basic price of domestic parcels between 1st November and 31st  December of current year.  After this period, the surcharge is automatically deactivated.

The surcharge does not apply to international shipping and Shop2Shop, Shop2Home and DPD Pickup products.

Surcharge .......... 6,- CZK/package.

For tyres, a progressive surcharge will apply, which will look like this:

  • Packages with tyres delivered from 1. - 15. 11. .......... 6,- CZK/package

  • Packages with tyres delivered from 16. 11.- 30. 11. ..........10,- CZK/package

  • Packages delivered from 1. - 31. 12. .......... 20,- CZK/package
