Dear Customers, We would like to inform you that from 1 January 2025, we are significantly simplifying the format of the energy supplement for you.

The change is also related to the growing number and importance of export parcels transported throughout Europe by Geopost, the largest parcel delivery network in Europe, of which we are an integral part. This means there will be no more local exceptions and we are moving towards a simplified and harmonised model.

The fuel surcharge for DPD Express (air transport) is also changing to a new 25% from 1 January 2025.

The amount of the surcharge will be published regularly in advance here on the website, as you have been used to.

Energy Surcharge

The energy surcharge is a surcharge on the fare, expressed as a percentage.

It is updated regularly every month.

The energy surcharge for domestic and international road transport for the month of April 2025 is 12.2%.

The energy surcharge for domestic and international road transport for the month of May2025 is 11.3%.

Instead of the energy surcharge, the fuel surcharge applied to air transport is based on the price of aviation petrol. The fuel surgcharge is 25%.

How to calculate Energy Surcharge?

As of 1 January 2024, a new amount of the toll  applies = CZK 0.90 excluding VAT for each kilogram of the weight of the transported consignment.

Tolls are paid only for land transport, not air transport.

As of 1 April 2025 a change applies:
The toll fee changes from CZK 0.90 excluding VAT/kg to a new CZK 1.10 excluding VAT/kg. This price applies to both domestic and international road transport.

Security surcharge – sanctions and embargoes.

International sanctions are restrictive measures that the international organizations (UN, EU), and possibly also individual states (especially the USA), use as a tool to fight against terrorism and its support, prevent money laundering, protect human rights and peace, etc.

In the context of the Czech Republic, embargoes currently apply to the ban on doing business with the following countries: North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Sudan, South Sudan and Burma. Other destinations might be temporarily excluded, too.

These surcharges apply to the international transport

New surcharge prices applies from 1 January 2024:

  • SK: 3,- CZK / shipment
  • Other countries: 6,- CZK / shipment

Seasonal surcharge

The seasonal surcharge is a surcharge to compensate for increased labour costs during the high volume season (peak period). It is invoiced automatically on top of the basic price of domestic parcels between 1st November and 31st  December of current year.  After this period, the surcharge is automatically deactivated.

The surcharge does not apply to international shipping and Shop2Shop, Shop2Home and DPD Pickup products.

Surcharge .......... 6,- CZK/package.

For tyres, a progressive surcharge will apply, which will look like this:

  • Packages with tyres delivered from 1. - 15. 11. .......... 6,- CZK/package

  • Packages with tyres delivered from 16. 11.- 30. 11. ..........10,- CZK/package

  • Packages delivered from 1. - 31. 12. .......... 20,- CZK/package
