Interview with our customer CIRCLE - The Sustainable Shop

DPD: ‘Please introduce your company and tell us what sets you apart.’
Patrick Röösli: ‘CIRCLE – The Sustainable Shop or circleshop.ch is the leading Swiss retail platform for a sustainable lifestyle. We only offer products from brands that are fundamentally committed to sustainability and fairness. Our assortment covers a wide range of product groups including fashion, cosmetics and electronics, each of which we present to our customers with a curated selection of what is on offer in the sustainable market. We take a modern omnichannel approach, whereby the boundaries between the online and offline worlds are blurred, and customers can decide how and where they want to interact with us, depending on the situation. Good advice, helpful customer service and communication as equals with our customers are very important to us, and we always try to create added value for our customers with the help of a product’s story and to increase awareness of production chains and their impact on nature and people.’

DPD: ‘What does reliability mean to you in terms of your customers and partners?’
Patrick Röösli: ‘For me, first and foremost, reliability means that you can always depend on the other person to do their best to fulfil the tasks and wishes of others and to promptly respond to problems when they arise. Of course, this also means having the skills and resources to ensure a certain level of quality. But mistakes will always happen, and it’s the way you deal with them that makes you a really reliable partner.’

DPD: ‘What is particularly important to you in a collaboration?’
Patrick Röösli: ‘Working together successfully is always primarily founded on mutual respect, a basis of trust and good communication as equals, where problems can be addressed openly and solutions discussed. Furthermore, as a partner, you should feel committed to reach fair solutions, even beyond written contracts and agreements, if the situation and needs change during the course of the partnership. For us, as a company focused on sustainability, it is also important that the other party also shows a willingness to provide the required services in the most sustainable and fair way possible.’

DPD: ‘How did you become aware of DPD Switzerland?’
Patrick Röösli: ‘Through our connections with other market participants, we heard that the quality of DPD’s delivery to end customers had improved considerably and that DPD had established itself as a suitable alternative for online shops. So we decided to ask for a quote and compare it with our situation at the time.’

DPD: ‘How long have you been working with DPD?’
Patrick Röösli: ‘We’ve been working with DPD since mid 2023.’

DPD: ‘Please cite three reasons why you decided to work with DPD.’
Patrick Röösli: ‘Number one: DPD responded to our individual needs and demonstrated the flexibility we were looking for. Two: DPD communicated very well and attentively with us. And three: DPD’s offer enabled us to significantly reduce delivery costs.’
