Paints and liquids

External packaging

During transportation and sorting, it must be clearly identifiable that the shipment contains paints or other liquids.

For external packaging, it is recommended to use transparent materials, such as clear bags or transport-grade transparent film. This provides additional protection for other items in the shipment in the event of a spill.

Sealing and safety

If liquids are shipped in cans or other specialized containers:

  • Containers must be fully sealed.
  • Liquids must not leak, even if the package is tilted or handled roughly.
  • Ensure that container caps are equipped with protective features and cannot loosen unintentionally (i.e., caps should remain secure unless safety seals are removed).
  • If factory seals are absent, caps must be additionally secured (e.g., tightly wrapped with adhesive tape).

A “Fragile” label or sticker on the package is not mandatory. It serves only as informational guidance and does not influence the sorting or transportation process. Therefore, all fragile items must be properly packaged to ensure safe handling during transit.
